Michael Thomas Hargrove passed away on October 3, 2025, in Muscatine, Iowa, on Fletcher Avenue, known as Millers Hill.

We are just $700 short to give Michael a proper burial and headstone.

Michael was a gentle soul with a big heart. The only son of a war veteran who gave his life in service, he carried that legacy quietly, always helping others even when he had little to give. His mother, who raised four children on her own after losing her husband, has also passed, leaving Michael with few family members.

Michael never asked for anything for himself, yet he gave freely—to friends, neighbors, and the animals he loved. Every person who knew him would swear he adored the family dogs: Dinky, who he would sneak treats to; Toby, who he would take on even the smallest car rides around the corner and back; Gypsy, whom he walked every day; and Riggs, who didn’t have to stay outside—he’d be right there watching movies with Michael. One neighbor remembered Michael sitting on the porch in the rain to make sure a stray kitten was safe, refusing to go inside until the tiny animal was warm and dry.

Michael had a heart so big that it extended to every living creature. There are people who change the world quietly; Michael was one of those—his kindness touched humans and animals alike, making everyone feel safe and cared for.
