Well, it's been a tough year. Both of my parents passed away this year after lengthy illnesses. They battled until the end, and I was (very fortunate) to be able to fulfill their wishes of remaining at home. My mother, Betty, passed away in April, and my father, Elmer, passed away 2 months later in June. I so admired them, loved them, and feel so fortunate and blessed to have had them as my parents. Both were loved and respected by many. They possessed such integrity, generosity, honesty, and character. They lived with such dignity, caring, and a courage that never diminished, even in their darkest and most difficult times. Even though both came from very humble beginnings, they were able to accomplish so much, live so much,  to love so much in their lifetimes. As per their wishes, both were cremated. They asked that their ashes be united into a memorial headstone to be placed at a small family graveyard. The reason for my fundraiser is: I'm seeking help to acquire a (memorial) headstone and cover funeral expenses. The past couple of years have been quite expensive, with many unexpected, out-of-pocket expenses (many of which continue). I'm hoping to raise funding to fulfill my parents' wishes and to provide them with a fitting tribute. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
