Title: Help a TBI Survivor & IT Graduate Secure a Home and a Future

In August 2018, a traumatic event changed my life forever. I suffered a severe head injury caused by a person I was with at the time, leaving me initially unable to walk without assistance, see straight, or speak clearly. For years, I lived in a high-stress environment where I was gaslit into questioning my own reality. Despite my injury and while acting as a caregiver for that person’s parent with dementia, I performed major home repairs and cared for 17 cats and five dogs-most of them rescues.

I chose to fight for a different life. Against all odds, I recently graduated from Purdue University Global with a 4.0 GPA in Information Technology.

Today, the only thing preventing me from fully closing that difficult chapter is housing. My 15-year-old son and I are currently renting. Every bit of income I receive goes toward rent, and our housing security is constantly at risk. I never know from one day to the next if the home will be sold. Until I secure a job in my field, my income isn't enough to qualify for even the most modest rentals, and I have been on waiting lists for subsidized housing for quite some time.

Leaving this house would be heartbreaking. This community has become the family I never had—supporting me through my physical limitations and helping me rebuild my life. I’ve labeled this a “for me” fundraiser, but its impact goes much further.

My goal is to purchase this home so I can continue my work here. I am deeply invested in giving back:

Children’s Ministry: I serve as the lead for my local church’s children’s program.

Community Advocacy: I volunteer regularly with animal rescues, homeless outreach, and organizations supporting children of incarcerated parents.

Innovation for Good: For my senior project, I built the frontend of an application designed to help individuals in crisis find and access resources. I need to finish the backend to integrate this tool into the nonprofits I serve.

I am asking for funds to purchase this home and ensure necessary repairs are made, allowing me to settle this situation and finally move forward. I have no fight left for the past; it would only result in the certainty that I could not stay here. I only have a drive for the future. Being able to stay in this home and community to move forward in helping others means more to me than vengeance. Your support will provide a stable home for my son and the foundation I need to launch my career and my community projects.
