My name is Patty.  I am a 53 year old mother of three.  On July 09, 2024 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer.  I had a lumpectomy with lympnode removal on July 15th.  The month before,  it was confirmed that I also had Basil Cell Skin Cancer.  On July 24th,  I underwent another surgery to remove the skin cancer.  Since then,  I had another surgery to put in a port a cath for my chemo treatments.  My treatments were delayed because the incision on my neck from the port opened and it had to be restitched.  A week later my chest incision became infected and completely reopened to the extent my port was visible in the opening.  Yet again, another surgery was done on October 14th for that repair. These setbacks caused delay in my treatments.  But, I finally got my first treatment and currently am waiting for next one on Nov 12th.  My oncologist ordered a petscan during the month of August.  The results from that revealed more news.  A 2cm nodule was found on my thyroid.  I was sent for a biopsy and the pathology report confirmed that I have thyroid cancer as well.  I have been referred to an endocrinologist for further testing. My oncologist told me that surgery will be needed. But,  it will have to wait until my 8 months of chemo and radiation are completed due to the lowered immunity of my body.  Now that my story has been told,  I would like to explain why I am asking for finacial help.  My husband and I are self employed with a little pressure washing company.  He was also recently diagnosed with PAD and stage 3 emphysema. We both have continued to do as much as we can.  But,  with my numerous surgeries and now chemo treatments,  I was told by my doctor that I can no longer continue working because of the nature of work we do and the potential of infections.  The last month and a half,  our families have helped tremendously with bills,  travel cost,  and food.  But, they cannot continue to sustain that. I have started the process for some disability assistance, but was told it could take up to two years. I am hoping and praying for kindness from strangers… not to thrive,  but to survive. Anything no matter how big or small will truly be appreciated and put to good use.
