As many of you know our nephew Brendan was diagnosed with leukemia - ALL (Acute lymphoblastic leukemia) on August 8th.  

On August 6th, Brendan was not feeling well at all…. pressure and discomfort in his stomach and chest, pain when breathing, fever, etc.  Emily took Brendan to the ER and after many tests and a possible diagnosis of cancer the family transferred him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where more testing could be done.  After a bone marrow test and more testing, it was determined that Brendan would begin Chemo treatments the next day.  We don't know how long they will be in the hospital, but his treatment plan will most likely last two and a half years.

Emily's PTO (Paid time off) will be used up quickly, and even though Jeff is still working, they will be unable to cover all hospital bills, financial needs, housing, food, transportation to chemo sessions (in the future), medical supplies, medication, and supporting the rest of the family. We are hopeful in Brendan's recovery, but they have a long road ahead. To alleviate the financial stress, we're asking for any support, no matter how small, anything will help during this difficult time in their lives.
