UPDATE: This is Jake's Mom, Michelle. I can't thank you all enough for helping me to bring my son home. Between donations here and sent by mail, I was able to pay the mortuary for my half of the expenses! Another kind friend paid for his urn. I received thoughtful care packages in the mail and in person. I am grateful to every single one of you! It warms my heart to know Jake had so many people who loved him.

We're keeping this fundraiser open in the hopes of having a celebration of life for Jake in the near future. Something outdoors, maybe potluck and BBQ? Definitely some live music! Astral Valley would be my first choice but it's a long drive for some folks. So Willmore Park or Carondelet Park might be nice. Just somewhere to gather with everyone, listen to some good music, eat, and spend a little time remembering him. Thank you for helping if you can.

It breaks my heart to post this, but my dear friend, Michelle Gardner, lost her beautiful son, and only child, Jake, last Saturday. He died suddenly, at his home, in San Diego, CA. His wishes were to be brought back to St. Louis, if something ever happened to him.. Unfortunately, there was no life insurance policy. They have come to the conclusion that they are going to have to cremate him, and pay to have his ashes brought back to St. Louis. They have to purchase the urn, as well. There will be a celebration of life, after he is brought back home. We have lowered the amount of our goal, to reflect these changes…Please pray for Michelle, the rest of his family, and his long time girlfriend…. If you are able, please give generously. If you can't give much, even a couple dollars would help! It all adds up! She does not have much time to get this done.
