About this fundraiser

Dear friends, loved ones, and kind supporters,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our beloved mother’s passing. She left us peacefully in her sleep this past Friday at the age of 75, after many years bravely facing a heart condition. Her final days were spent in hospice, surrounded by warmth and love that reflected the care she gave to so many.

Our mother devoted her life to supporting those struggling with addiction and recovery—especially within our own family. She stood by our youngest sister’s side through years of hardship on the streets, never giving up hope or compassion. We take comfort in knowing that since our mother entered hospice, our sibling has entered recovery, carrying forward the strength and resilience our mother instilled in all of us.

Mom leaves behind five loving children and thirteen grandchildren who will cherish her legacy forever. As we prepare for her burial and try to find peace in this difficult time, we are faced with financial challenges beyond what we can manage alone. Coordinating funeral arrangements while balancing family, work, and our children’s school and sports schedules is overwhelming, and hospital constraints mean her service must be scheduled quickly. Some of us may not be able to attend in person, which is a heartbreaking reality.

We humbly ask for your help in any of the following ways:

- Sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and communities

- Donating, if you are able

- Sending prayers and positive thoughts for our family

Every gesture—no matter the size—brings comfort to us as we say goodbye to a woman who devoted everything to her children, grandchildren, and those in need. With enough support, we hope to travel for her service and pay our respects in person as a family.

Thank you, and God bless you and your families for your generosity, kindness, and support during our time of loss and remembrance.

With gratitude and love,

Antoinette, Cristina, Joseph, James, & Catherine McGarvie
