About this fundraiser

My name is John Ehde, I do Architectural Salvage. I business started my business 2 years ago I was doing very well until late into my first year I feel about 40 ft and shattered my left heel  and fractured my right heel. I did not qualify for any state aid because I didn't lie about my income. So I refused the surgeries I needed, and I was back to work a week later on my hands and knees with a 6' spud bar, sledgehammer and knee pads at the end of october trying to finish taking down a barn up to this point I had worked alone. I had to hire two guys for $25 an hour because the work I do is really hard.

Since then my grandfather has passed on, my GF and I had a house fire and her father also passed on as well. All of this kind of got in my head it was a little depressed. October last year to here now and I'm finally healed up physically and mentally. I have a few jobs lined up but I have no money to pay the help that I need to do these jobs safely and efficiently. I have been living off the money that I made and some odds and ends left over from last years projects. I thought I would try to do maybe a private loan and just keep getting scammers. I was also divorced last year and I have recelty acquired some vehicle debt that I have recently been deemed responsible for and it has destroyed my credit so I can't go to a bank.

I don't actually even want to be on here askibg for handouts because i know that there are people way worse off than I am. I hope there is some way I can pay it back on here. I really hope this works though bwcause its my dream.

If I can raise the money I need heres the basics, I need a little startup money for gas and some basic tools like Sawzall blades, skill saw blades stuff like that. Stuff that just gets wore out that you need.My first job is 100 miles away my crew and I will be staying on site in a house on the property. So that'll save a lot of money right oit of the gate. I also need to pay my crew 25$ an hour for a week and provide food and drinks.

The project is is a 70x40 3-story Barn framed completely out of oak. which is special because you don't see a lot of buildings like this. So we will dismantle it, stage it on site and when it's all ready and were done. We'll bring it back home and we'll Mill, surface and make tounge and groove flooring out of the beams and the posts. We save everything that we possibly can because I hate seeing things go to waste. Then we start looking for another barn or another building and it will all be because of anyone who donates. Your giving 4 people and their families work and piece of mind doing something we love and we are good at. To anyone that decides  we are worthy of YOUR hard earned money we appreciate it more than you know. I had a family member fall a few years ago and the first thing they did was put someone in his company vehicle after 30 years that next Monday somebody else was in his truck. Once they found out he wasn't coming back to work they took his HVAC license and they told everybody that worked there to stop talking to him. He fought for 3 years for money that he deserved over a problem that they should have fixed cuz for 15 years he asked him to fix it and he ended up getting hurt over it and they didn't do a damn thing for him and now the United States government is trying to screw him out of his earned Social Security as well I don't want to work for somebody that doesn't care for me and this is that's kind of the reason I started this was silly we could kind of do these kinds of things together and do Woodworking and stuff with the barns that we tear down and save a piece of History and make cool things we don't like to see things go to waste as far as being treated fairly as an employee I pay my guys very well I treat them very well everybody loved working together last year. But no one works for free.

Those who know me know,

I WILL PAY IT FORWARD. Thank You
