My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in early November. Since then she has had 3 visits to the hospital for pneumonia and other types of infections. Each trip lasted a week if not longer. On January 15th she had a stroke that took away some cognitive abilities as well as some short term memory and right peripheral vision. Unclear if it was the 1 round of chemo she had or something else that caused the stroke. 

After her more recent trip to the hospital she was brought home Wednesday February 18th with hospice as she no longer wanted treatment. The risk of another stroke was high. 

Throughout this journey I have had to miss quite a bit of work for appointments and emergencies. I have FMLA however that doesn't pay unfortunately. My mom doesnt qualify for medicaid which is what usually pays for family to care for their loved ones. Currently my bills in total are roughly $1400 a month. The $3000 will give me cushion to help me pay my bills while i care for my mom. As she not only doesnt qualify for medicaid she also doesnt make quite enough to pay for any significant in-home Healthcare. 

Im not one to ask for help normally especially with money but I am running out of options for someone to care for her while i work on a regular basis. Taking leave from work is the best option unfortunately.
