Help My Children and I Stay Afloat After the Unexpected Loss of My Husbands Income

Three months ago, my children and I unfortunately lost my husbands income unexpectedly as he was taken away from us and we still don't know when he will come home. Along with dealing with his absence, his income covered some of our major bills—rent, electric, health insurance, and car insurance. Per month his portion of the bills totaled around $5,000, and we structured our lives around having two incomes.

I do have a job, and I’m grateful for it, but I just started a new position about a month and a half ago. With the nature of what I do for work I typically work about 12 hours per day and often weekends so a part-time job just would not work right now. I’m working hard to cover our expenses, but right now it simply isn’t enough. I don’t qualify for any assistance—even though I lost my husband’s entire income overnight.”

Our home has been one of the few stable things left for my kids. Ironically, our 4-bedroom rental is actually cheaper than downsizing into a 3-bedroom apartment, so staying here is the most affordable option. But we’re still waiting to find out if our lease will even be renewed. If it isn’t, I’ll need to come up with first and last month’s rent and deposits—money I simply do not have.

I’ve used every resource I could, but I’m falling behind. With Christmas approaching, the stress of trying to keep life normal for my children has been overwhelming. They’ve already suffered enough, and I’m doing everything in my power to keep them stable, safe, and emotionally supported.

On top of everything, our family dog has been sick and needed vet care I couldn’t delay.

Asking for help is incredibly hard for me, but right now we truly need it. Any donation—no matter how small—will help us cover essential bills, stay in our home, and get through this painful time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, or donating. Your kindness means more than you know, and it brings us one step closer to stability and healing. 💛
