Dearest family, loved ones, and friends,
We are heartbroken to share that Cecily’s health has declined rapidly, and she is now nearing the end of her journey. She is deeply loved by her daughter Brook, son Cole, Grandson Sylas, Life partner Jamie, and many friends she has made over the years, as well as her bonus family of adult stepchildren Isaiah and Ione, and their mother Jennifer
Many of you will remember Cecily from years past as part‑owner of the Finish Line Lounge. What mattered to her wasn’t just keeping the locals smiling, but very much the charity golf tournaments she organized through the bar to support Pike’s Peak Hospice.
Two years ago, Cecily survived a devastating battle with flesh‑eating bacteria, resulting in the amputation of her leg. Her health continued to decline slowly until November 2025, when it then became clear she would need a liver transplant as soon as possible. Throughout this time, Jamie was her full‑time caregiver at home, took her to every appointment, and stayed by her side through countless hospital visits all while working as many hours as he was able in order to maintain the household.
In December, the family explored the possibility of Jennifer becoming a living donor as she and Cecily share the same rare blood type. At that time, to give Jamie some relief after missing hundreds of hours of work, Jennifer stepped in to help care for Cecily during the days with support from Brook, Kelcy and friends when needed, all while continuing her own work whenever possible.
Unfortunately, as time passed and progress was being made, it was brought to awareness that Cecily was also suffering from heart failure, as well as a plethora of other complications. This resulted in her decision to return home under hospice care in January, due to the inability to move forward with the liver transplant and other surgeries. This prompted Jennifer to increase her caregiving hours as insurance only provided a few hours a week with a nurse. As always, Jamie continues to care for Cecily while also trying to keep up with work and completing a major local project.
While she is still with us, Cecily met end‑of‑life protocol on the evening of February 6. She is fighting hard, but we are unsure of how long we have left with her.
Because everything happened so quickly, we now find ourselves planning her memorial and cremation with no financial resources. Jamie is behind on bills and urgently needs help catching up on rent, and Jennifer has taken on expenses and fallen behind on bills while giving her time to ensure Cecily was cared for with love and dignity. We appreciate any and all donations, thank you!
