Hitting the long road of recovery.

Wanted to give an update regarding chastity. Its been a little over a month and while this has been the most difficult month in our lives the progress is still extraordinary. Most of her tubes and lines are gone. All that remains is a foley and ostomy bag. She will require these for some time still secondary to her extensive bladder and perinial injuries. She still is not able to weight bear on her wrists due to her bilateral fractures but she is working on standing with her one good leg. She is able to feed her self with utensils. She can brush her teeth and assist with showering. Her pain tolerance is a work in progress due to her multifocal injuries but we are constantly adjusting meds to meet those needs. She is enjoying simple things like strawberries, butter chicken, cheese and gingerale. Her favorite thing is her stitch blanket. She is spicy and stubborn and it is helping her work hard to overcome her obstacles. Hoping to have her home in a few weeks where me and her dad's round the clock care of her can continue in a more comfortable setting. This road is long. She has so so so much more healing, recovery and work to do. We still have more surgeries in our future. We still face challenges almost every day. The support this fundraiser has given so far is humbling and profound. We are currently at a point of not working due to her care and we are able to keep a roof over our heads and fresh fruit, clothes, comfort items and countless other things to help chastity recover coming thanks to this fundraiser.
