My dad, Robert D. Gaines, was diagnosed with lung cancer in September 2022. He bravely faced surgery and chemotherapy in October, but soon after, we learned that the cancer had spread to his brain. The doctors tried Gamma Knife surgery to help, but unfortunately, it made things worse. Over time, he began to lose his motor skills and eventually could no longer talk or move. On top of all this, he was also dealing with stage 3 kidney failure.

Today, January 25th, 2026, at 12:04pm, my dad passed away. Our family is heartbroken, and my mom is now left with the overwhelming task of handling his remaining medical bills and the costs for his cremation. She simply cannot manage these expenses on her own, and we are reaching out for help from our community.
