About this fundraiser

My dad passed away on the 27th of last month, and losing him has shaken our world in a way I can hardly put into words. He was a gentle, loving man with a kind spirit that stayed steady no matter what life threw at him.

Music was his passion. He was a local musician whose love for creating and performing was woven into who he was. But the role he cherished even more was being a father. He had one biological daughter, Tanya, who has cerebral palsy, and he cared for her with unwavering dedication until the very end.

And for 44 years, he was also my stepfather — though you’d never know the word “step” had anything to do with it. He raised me with the same love, the same patience, the same pride. He taught me how to tie my shoes, how to ride a bike, and he was the one I ran to when life felt too big. His presence was always the safest place in the room.

What stands out most about him is this: he made us feel safe. Truly safe. There was never violence, never fear, never anything but a calm, steady, supportive energy. He showed up with a soft smile, a warm heart, and a way of making you breathe easier just by being near him.

I’m creating this fundraiser because I need help covering his cremation costs. Family members who had committed to helping are unable to follow through, and time is running out. I want to honor him with the dignity he deserves, but I can’t do it alone.

If you’re able to donate — any amount — it would mean more than I can express. If you can’t donate, sharing this page helps tremendously.

Thank you for helping me lay to rest a man who gave so much love, safety, and kindness to everyone lucky enough to know him.
