Derek recently lost his father and is struggling to adjust.  He and his father struggled through life and were each others rocks. His father was diagnosed with lung cancer just before Christmas last year resulting in the loss of his job and eventually their home. His father lost his battle on July 10th. Derek’s mother has not been in his life for many years and we are sure he is dealing with some abandonment issues and we are seeking help for him.

My wife and I have taken Derek into our home and now have custody of him. He is already an intricate part of our family and our community. He is enrolled in school and now able to participate in sports and other activities he always wanted to do..
 Derek came with some baggage both emotional and physical. Along with this, his father had acquired some debts that wasn’t forgiven upon his death. 

Most of this will go to paying for his father’s funeral, attorney fees and other final expenses.
