My name is Sue and I'm helping my 75 yr. old good friend and roommate raise $ to cremate her husband and pay off some shut off notices on some bills. Her husband passed away on April 12, 2025 and  unfortunately his kids have left the burden of the funeral and)or cremation soly on my friend who is on a fixed income and can not afford the cost. To make matters worse the funeral home is refusing to give her a copy of the death certificate until expenses are paid, and without the death certificate she can not file for probate and start the closure and grieving process. Her husband had been in a nursing home with dementia and was receiving over $4000 a month, but was giving his daughter money and doing other things besides helping out with bills and house payment, and she received notice a few days ago that her home is scheduled to be auctioned off on August 16 2025! If losing her husband wasn't heartbreaking enough her water and utilities are due to be shut off soon. We have contacted DHS, and others for assistance but she has not been approved and had not received any funds to help out with her circumstances. My friend and I would greatly appreciate any and all help from our community! Thank you, and God Bless!
