I have a huge place in my heart for western North Carolina and teachers. Swannanoa, NC was one of the hardest hit areas of Hurricane Helene where many restaurants and grocery stores remain closed. Despite these challenges, teachers and students have bravely returned to school, where children continue to receive free breakfast and lunch. Teachers are not only continuing to handle this natural disaster and the impact it had on them personally, but they are showing up daily for the students they love and care for. Let's show our Western North Carolina teachers how much we care about them!
I am teaming up with Cabarrus Cooking Company on December 9th to feed 150 teachers and staff a hot lunch! We will be serving W.D. Williams Elementary School and Charles D. Owen Middle School. This will not be possible without people sponsoring a teacher's meal. For $15 you will provide a meal (Hamburger or grilled chicken sandwich, macaroni and cheese, fruit, and drink) and a handwritten note for a teacher/school staff member. If you’d like to write the note yourself, I’d be happy to provide a blank card for you—just reach out to me at [email protected].
Together, we can show these dedicated educators that we see their hard work and care about their well-being. Thank you so much for considering supporting this meaningful effort. Let's make sure our Western North Carolina teachers feel the love and appreciation they truly deserve.
