My father, Jeff Delio, passed away on March 4, 2023. He was 59 years old. His girlfriend did not notify family until Thursday, March 9th. (Our relationship was far from perfect. We were estranged the 6 years.) Unfortunately, my dad had no life insurance, no bank accounts, and no assets.  Being that he was unmarried and I am his only child, the burden of funeral expenses fall onto me. 

I am looking for donations if anyone feels in their heart to donate so I can get his body released. He is currently at the Erie County Medical Examiner’s office in Buffalo, NY. Every day he has been there and will be there until I can pay upfront for his funeral is a daily charge of $27.50 (Crazy right?). On top of the daily ME charge, I meet with a funeral home on Monday to sign for his release and start direct cremation. All funds have to be paid in full to start this process. At this point, I’m not looking to do a service. I can’t afford it. But I would like to have his body removed from the medical examiner’s office and cremate. I will be leaving Virginia and heading to New York Sunday to start this process. 
 

This was totally unexpected and blindsided me. Feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what else to do, I am asking for any donations to help with giving my father a proper end of life.
