This fundraiser is to cover expenses of my sisters funeral services & memorial. this is my sisters story, on March 27th my sister went to the hospital for extreme swelling in her whole body, she was told to follow up with her PCP and sent home. 2 days later she had blood work done and was told she was in Acute Liver Failure - however, once admitted to the hospital on 4/3, she was later diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis, Cirrhosis of the liver, Jaundice, Edema, and Cellulitis and would need a liver transplant at some point in the very near future. Upon her most recent admission to the hospital on 4/28 recommended by her GI doctor, she was medically airlifted from Wichita, Ks to a St. Luke's in Denver, Colorado 500 miles away from family, and home. to be monitored closely by doctors there at the Transplant center. since her numbers were getting worse with each lab result, they quickly decided she needed a liver transplant, as soon as there was a liver available that was good enough for her. while waiting for one, she contracted infections, and it set her back. while facing many back to back opticals, she had to meet the criteria of a stable, healthy patient for the transplant. while fighting so hard for this transplant, she lost her battle on June 7th, 2023. she fought her best during the whole process. i want to strive to raise awareness to autoimmune hepatitis, and cirrhosis of the liver which was the cause of my sisters passing. Any proceeds will be used to pay for my sisters memorial and funeral services. anything is appreciated in this hard time for my family.
