After Gail‘s dedicated service as an art educator for 36+ years with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, she took her love for art to the community. She discovered a new passion when she was invited to create a sensory room for a local autism center. Youth who attended the center were drawn to Gail’s lively personality and compassion, as she helped channel their energy towards exploring creativity through art. She met with a core group of companions in South Miami and shared her idea to create the “Artism Foundation- where art meets autism.”
The family would like to honor Gail’s legacy by formally establishing the Artism Foundation and finalizing art initiatives she was diligently working on before her untimely passing.

2mos agoI am heartbroken, as I know anyone who ever spent time with Gail is feeling. She was loved by so many people. I met her about three years ago at the swim aerobics class in South Miami. It didn't take long before Gail had me painting murals and creating sensory walls for children with autism. Gail's loving, creative spirit brought people together. She was an absolute joy to be around. The world is a better place because of her.
