Linda was able to get emergency heating support! My employer was able to help us with a huge part of Gary’s final expenses, but not all of it. Linda’s world changed on December  13 2025 with the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Gary. Gary was Linda’s high school sweetheart, and they shared 17 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. Gary was an amazing uncle, brother, and friend—someone who would do anything for anyone in need. He was known for his great sense of humor and his passion for ice hockey, especially as an incredible goalie in his younger years. For the past two years, Gary fought bravely, holding onto hope for a kidney transplant, while Linda cared for him every step of the way.

Now, Linda is facing the unimaginable—coping with the loss of her soulmate while also navigating sudden financial hardship. With the transition from two incomes to one, she is struggling to cover basic needs like heating oil and is worried about losing her home. On top of these challenges, she is also managing final expenses and trying to find a way forward during this overwhelming time.
