Our very elderly lovely lady Karin Boyd, who has a life of service to others through counseling, has run afoul of a speeding law. This is a very dense and heavily trafficked area where speed traps are especially effective due to merging demands. She was ticketed for an illegal lane change but had to abruptly change lanes to avoid hitting another driver who cut her off. That part was missed by the officer though and he just saw Karin swerve out of her lane. She also has a cracked tail light that still works but he gave her a ticket for that too so it must be repaired and is an expensive replacement for grandma. She runs the risk of losing her license if this isn’t addressed very quickly.
Karin would've had the funds to take care of this in savings but was recently a victim of fraud and the bank is refusing to help and return the funds because she didn't catch it within their required time window since it was an account she doesn't use often. She seems to just be out of luck and lost all of her savings at the same time.
On top of all of this bad luck, she recently had to go through a serious back surgery and is currently immobile from it and has no way to try and make the funds to cover the tickets, repair her car and recover some of her lost savings that were stolen.
As she still, at 80 years of age, actively supports her community, we can’t let Karin lose her license and go without fund for basic needs while she recovers from such a difficult surgery. Please help with whatever you can to keep our beloved counselor mobile. No donation is every too small.
