  • Staples out and cast on

This is Heather, and I want to thank each and every one who has donated, shared this page, or taken the time to read it. Surgery went well and this past Monday, I saw the Orthopedic Surgeon for a post-op visit. He took my staples out (13 on the outside and 7 on the inside of my left ankle), cleaned both incisions, and applied a cast (oooo, in my favorite color 😊). I have a follow-up visit in a little over 3 weeks from now when the cast will come off and I will receive my next instructions. Per original conversation with Ortho, I should be able to return to work 4-6 months after surgery, so at least each day is one day closer to that goal. In the meantime, I am so lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful support group that includes my Mom, friends, and all of you here. Thank you so much! I am truly humbled by the generosity that each of you has bestowed upon me. I appreciate each and every one of you, and wish you a wonderful and safe New Year’s Eve.

About this fundraiser

Heather or “

Davis” as I call her have been friends for almost 16 years. My good friend slipped on her way out to her car. She ended up with A trimalleolar fracture. It is a serious ankle injury where the lateral malleolus, medial malleolus, and posterior malleolus (the "three malleoli") are all broken. This will require surgery which is tentatively set for December 4th. Unfortunately, at the time of the incident “slip” (getting old sucks) Davis did not have insurance. Her ER visit alone was over 20,000 dollars. I just wanted to raise some funds to help my bud. She is a great person, who needs a little extra. During this time off from work, she will be studying for her NCLEX,  so she can continue her nursing journey from LVN to RN, and continue to help others.
