- My name is Kathy and I’m a caregiver. I take care of this 53yr old disability woman and she having problems with rent and power bill. She gets a check once of month it’s only $1329. Let me tell you a little bit about her 6yrs ago she had a stroke and she unable to work any more. And she been struggling ever since. But what really made it worst is last year here in Texas “Beryl” the hurricane she lost her power pole for 4 months and no one would help her within months a kind sole came along and help with pole. But in the mean time she Was on this program with the power company called ”leveling bill” she keep calling the power company to stop the program they didn’t stop it until 5 months later and all that time they keep charging her for them 4 months that she didn’t have power on. And the finally attemp to talk with the power company they took off maybe $200 off her bill. She has been playing catch up on this bill snd gotten no where so now she sitting at home with no powe. In order to get her power back on it’s going to take $2842.47. And in the meantime other bills go behind especially her lot rent where her home sits on she behind on it in order for her to stay in her family home she needs $850. She has tried everything and everyone I’ve even tried to help her. She a good hearted person she’s the type of person that takes care of others before herself but the people she helps can’t even return a favor. And family can’t help. And if anyone that could help it would be a blessing cause she doing without food hot water to shower. So please any one that could help.
