LATEST UPDATE 08/08/2025:
We've met our goal! Our car is running, and Kurt's first check arrived. Plus, I get to go back to work tomorrow.
Thank you all so very much for your prayers and support!

Our car broke down.
As far as we know, Kurt's surgery was a success, and he should be able to start on fluids soon. I was able to get in a few days of work before yesterday's follow-up appointment in Richmond. But unfortunately, our car broke down on Monday and I've had to get a rental.
I know I am truly blessed that I still have Kurt, and that's the most important thing to focus on. But I just can't swing getting the car fixed at a garage, and Kurt is too weak to do the work. I can only afford to keep the rental for one more day. If you're able to help in any way we would both be so grateful. Prayers and shares, donations or someone to come and replace an alternator would be a tremendous help.
Thank you!
Original post:
I had hoped that I wouldn't need to start a fundraiser, but things have become a bit overwhelming. If you are able to help, any amount, as well as any prayers, would be greatly appreciated.
As many of you know, this past December, Kurt was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He had to stop working halfway through chemo and radiation, but was hoping to go back to work after his treatments were over. Instead, he got Shingles, which really knocked him down. Then he couldn't swallow so he had to get a feeding tube. After the surgery for the feeding tube he developed blood clots, which found their way to his lungs. During all of this he lost a great deal of weight and almost all of his strength. But now, he has recovered enough to undergo surgery. We are told that the recovery will be slow, and he'll most likely not be able to return to normal activities, or work, for several months.
I've managed to keep us going on one income through most of this journey, but I've gone through our savings, and now I'll need to take more time off to be in Richmond with him during his hospital stay. I'm asking this to help with travel expenses, and to help keep us afloat until I can get back to work full-time.
Please help if you can, even if it's by praying, sending positive thoughts or sharing this post.
Thank you and God Bless you.
