Update on Kim’s Recovery

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, on September 2nd Kim was suddenly and violently attacked by a dog, leaving her with multiple serious wounds. She has been in and out of the hospital since then, facing painful treatments and a long recovery. Her husband Jeff has been by her side every step of the way, and her loyal puppy Pearl—who was also injured while bravely protecting her—continues to recover as well.

Saturday night, Kim had to return to the ER and was admitted Sunday morning. The doctors discovered her wound infection is a polymicrobial challenge, involving both bacterial and fungal organisms that require a complex and carefully targeted treatment plan. The good news is that we believe she is finally on the right track, and a wound specialist is now part of the recovery team.

As Kim’s mom shared:
