Hi all:
Well, it’s been a heck of a year to say the least, something I know many of you can relate to. I ended last month hopeful and headed to Denver to begin the next amazing chapter of my life… new job (a promotion I’ve been waiting for) and new city. A fresh start, something I’ve so desperately needed. Unfortunately, my vehicle, which I planned to drive across the country, broke down two days before I was set to leave. It was towed to See’s Mercedes & BMW Repair in Winchester to get a diagnosis of what’s was wrong. I had to make the trek to Denver in a rental, and am now relying on public transportation in the interim.
Unfortunately, this past Monday, I received a call from the owner of See’s, that after exhaustive efforts to repair it, the motor unfortunately needs to be replaced. it is unfortunately out of warranty with Mercedes, and since I only purchased the vehicle a year ago through Carvana (lesson learned), I have to foot the cost. I would trade it in/sell it but with the engine damage, I’ve been quoted less than $10k, leaving me upside down on my loan if I was to go that route. I’ve called Carvana and got no help from them at all, even though I strongly believe they sold me a car with engine problems Based on what I’ve been told by See’s. I’ve tried to get a loan but unfortunately been turned down.
I will be taking everything from my retirement $6300 roughly, but coming up with the rest will take some financial gymnastics, so here I am. Calling upon the internet to help. I can provide any documentation needed to verify, and those that would like to contribute can do that here or make payments to See’s on my behalf if you’d feel more comfortable. I understand this is a large ask, and I’ve rarely relied on help from others but my finances have taken such a hit. I know everyone is struggling, but anything honestly will help. It will be a while before the car is done, and See’s will give me a final estimate of costs and labor at the beginning of next week.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate you all.
