About this fundraiser

Hi everyone,

I never imagined I would be in a position to write something like this, but today I’m asking for help for someone who means the world to me.

My godfather, who is also my uncle and truly a second father to me, is one of the most important people in my life. He has always been someone I looked up to. He’s the life of the party, the one always joking, always laughing, and always down for anything. His energy is contagious, and he brings joy to everyone around him.

On April 15, 2026, just one day before he was supposed to return home to Illinois from Mexico, he suffered a severe and unexpected stroke.

He is now in critical condition, he is unable to speak and is paralyzed on his right side. While he is conscious and can understand simple commands, his condition is still very serious and uncertain.

What makes this situation even more difficult is that he is currently in Mexico, where all medical care must be paid for upfront. Every test, every medication, every procedure requires immediate payment before it can be done.

My family has already had to go through so much just to get him care. The costs are quickly adding up, and the financial burden is overwhelming.

As someone in healthcare, I understand how serious his condition is and the long road ahead. Our hope is to continue his care and, if possible, bring him back home to Illinois, where he can be surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and loved ones as he continues to fight.

If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean more than I can put into words. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser or keeping him in your prayers would mean just as much to our family.

Due to his current medical condition and the overwhelming situation, we kindly ask that phone calls be avoided. If you need to reach the family, please send a text message to his wife or children, and they will respond as soon as they are able. We truly appreciate your understanding, patience, and respect during this difficult time.

With love and gratitude,
