We are fundraising for our Papa Bret. From 2019 to 2022 my husband (Bret's son), myself and our now 5 children went through things most only read about or see in a Lifetime movie- we were wrongfully charged and incarcerated for an accumulated year of our lives and wrongfully had our kids removed- kidnapped by the State- and during this fight we encountered many financial hardships that Papa Bret never batted an eye at when we simply couldn't do it. He spent almost his entire savings on helping us fight to get our kids home, which we did in 2022 after a long and hard road. 

Fast-forward to June of this year. Bret has always been the healthiest guy I've ever known- juicing, protein shakes, exercise, organics, the whole nine-yards, but he was ALWAYS tired. Like, in bed by 5 every day, always in his chair, lethargic… and we began to ask, “WHY?!” The answer came in the form of a shocking diagnosis of STAGE 4 Metastatic Bone Cancer. We immediately moved into Papa's house while Papa moved down with his folks, all of rallying together on our family property. 2 weeks later he was given 6 weeks to live and was sent home on hospice to die in front of his parents who are in their late 80s, with no hope or optimism for life. 

As someone who takes great care with what he puts in his body, Big Pharma does NOT hold the key to Bret's survival and we've been learning and researching and doing as much for him from home as we can. Unfortunately, he needs MORE. We are hoping to be able to gather the funds needed to be able to send him for Alternative and Holistic Care, as our kids aren't ready for Papa to die… BRET isn't ready to die… and since our struggles are the reason he isn't able to go RIGHT NOW to receive the care he requires to save his life, this is the best way I can think of to attempt to pay him back for everything he's done for us. 

This is a man who has walked through the sh*t and still works everyday to come out clean on the other side, a man who deserves to live and who has so much to live for. PLEASE help in ANY way you can- The Proffitt Family could never thank you enough!!!
