For the past 2–3 years, a fluffy black stray cat—who we’ve lovingly named Steven—has made our yard his safe place. At first, Steven kept his distance, watching us from the shadows and darting away whenever we came outside. But over time, with patience, consistency, and plenty of food, he began to trust us.

Today, Steven greets us with slow blinks, gentle meows, and a confidence we never thought we’d see. He sits at the slider door just meowing waiting for pets and food. He’s no longer just a stray who wanders through—we consider him part of our family.

Now we want to take the next step: give Steven the veterinary care he needs so we can officially adopt him and bring him safely indoors around our other pets.

Steven needs a full wellness exam, vaccinations, flea and parasite treatment, neutering, and testing for common feline illnesses. As anyone who’s rescued a stray knows, the costs add up quickly—but Steven is worth every bit of it. He’s survived on his own for years, and we want to make sure he never has to struggle again.
