About this fundraiser

Over the past 18 years, Tabitha has struggled with obesity, peaking at 420 pounds just two years ago. It was tough dealing with various health issues, including diabetes. Tabitha had gastric bypass surgery in September of 2023. She has lost 100 pounds, and since then, she has shed an additional 180 pounds, bringing my total weight loss to 280 pounds!

As you can imagine, losing all that weight has left her with excess skin, which is causing some medical problems, especially around her stomach, as well as creating massive pain in her back. She can’t wait to have it removed! We’ll be starting with the stomach surgery, and there are more procedures in line, but I’m a little anxious about surgeries and recovery.

This journey has been incredibly long and challenging, marked by both ups and downs. Still, she would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Her A1C levels, which were once at 15, are now around 5.4, and she is no longer on diabetes medications. She has been able to work again, which has been a huge blessing—her numbers have drastically improved from the 400-700 range to now having some lows in the 40s. This is indicative of being hyperglycemic.

Not only is she working again, but she has also been promoted to Assistant Manager! Before this journey, her diabetes and other health conditions made it impossible for her to hold a job. It’s amazing how much her health has improved with these changes. Of course, she still has a lot to address due to her past struggles with obesity, but losing 280 pounds and getting her A1C to a healthy level is a fantastic start.

Tabitha will be having skin removal surgery with in the next few months. She has to pay for most of this next process in my weightless journey if you can find it in your heart to donate anything helps. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read my sister's story.

Thank you all for your support!
