Help Us Build Our Forever Home Near Our Family

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our story.

My husband and I are retired and currently living in a travel trailer with our Great Dane in an RV park in Phoenix, Arizona. We are grateful to have a safe place to stay, but our dream is to move onto the piece of landwe own near Alamosa, Colorado, and build our forever home with our own two hands.

We chose Colorado because it brings us closer to what matters most—our children and grandchildren. Being able to spend more time with them and be a part of their lives during our retirement is something we cherish, and that's what inspired us to purchase our property near Alamosa.

We aren't asking anyone to build our dream for us. We are ready and willing to dothe hard work ourselves. What we need help with are the essential improvements that will make our land livable.

Before we can move onto the property, we need to install a septic system and drill a wellfor water. Those two necessities alone are expected to cost more than $20,000. Our fundraising goal is $50,000, which would also help us establish power—whether through solar or electricity—and purchase the basic materials needed to begin building our home.

Recently, we faced another unexpected challenge when both of our vehicles broke down. We had no choice but to purchase another vehicle capable of towing our travel trailer. While we're thankful to have reliable transportation, the monthly payment now takes a significant portion of our retirement income, making it evenmore difficult to save toward our goal.

Every month we remain in the RV park, wecontinue paying lot rent instead of putting that money toward building our home. If we can raise enough to install the well and septic system, we'll finally be able to moveonto our property. Eliminating the monthlyRV lot rent would allow us to put those funds toward building our home one step at a time.

We've never been afraid of hard work, and we fully intend to build our home ourselves. We aren't looking for someone else to do it for us—we're simply asking for a little help getting overthe biggest hurdles so we can move forward.
