I have a friend, Yumiko, who recently had her apartment broken into. During the break-in, she woke up to the intruders in masks and was stabbed 5 times and barely survived. She is currently in the hospital undergoing multiple operations to take care of the wounds and any other complications that may occur. I have been helping her with paying off the costs of operations, but she currently does not have any health insurance and is in the Philippines. Thus, it is a bit different than if you were in the United States for healthcare issues or being attacked.

The money would go to any operation costs and treatment along with prescribed medicine to help her deal with the pain and trauma caused from the experience. She was in the midst of saving to get out of the Philippines when the stabbing unfortunately happened to her. She is doing her best and fighting, but sadly healthcare is more concerned about money over giving treatment first and money coming second there.
