About this fundraiser

My mother Sylvia known as Cookie or Ms Cookie. She was diagnosed with an advanced stage of gynecological cancer in the Fall of 2023.  Months prior, test showed no signs. Through the treatments, the doctor's visit my mother was resilient, kept a smile on her face, prayed on it, went to church and all. About 2 weeks ago, we went in an ambulance to the hospital where my mother was experiencing hematemesis. She had an emergency blood transfusion and was in the ICU. As she got better she was moved. From there, things were not going well but she stayed positive. I received numerous calls from the hospital on one thing or the next. I tried to become her caregiver through the state program but was getting the run around for the past few weeks where I did not get to complete the steps. The palliative nurse recommended comfort care or a transfer to a palliative hospital. We decided to have her be at home and was setting things up. My mother was to be discharged 10/31/25 and passed away a few hours prior.

For those who have met my mother, have said we look alike or we have things in common like making others laugh. If you did not know my mother she was a kind hearted lady who cared for others. Some of my mother's last words were that she loved me. that she is so so sorry and told God she was tired.  Unfortunately, she did not have life insurance and that was on the to do list. She would have turned 64 on 11/04/25.

I started this fundraiser to help raise funds to give my mother a homecoming. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, sharing this will mean a lot to us.
