We and the rest of the family were not prepared in the slightest for Marc’s illness and passing. I was especially not prepared for the difficult decisions and work that needed to be done during his illness and within days of his passing.
In lieu of flowers, we respectfully ask you to consider gifting a donation to our Marc’s condolence fund. Marc had a very modest lifestyle and there are no assets to help support time sensitive death-related expenses.
The condolence funds will be used to cover the cost of funeral home services, cremation and urns, costs related to sorting out Marc’s belongings, the Knights of Columbus “Remembrance of Life” on July 15, and any other items that may arise while taking care of Marc’s affairs.
If you knew Marc you knew his heart, his big loud loving personality. Marc was private, thoughtful, giving - a natural fisherman, loved The Wharf, travel, and gambling. He will be greatly missed. (See Obituary below.)
If you're in a position to give a lot or a little, everything helps. If you aren't able to contribute to this fund, your prayers are extremely appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out with thoughtful notes, condolences, and offers of support. We could not get through this situation without your love and kindness. Please keep our family in your thoughts, think positively and take care of each other.
With Love,
Danielle

Marc D. “Wolfie” Wolfe Obituary
Marc D. Wolfe, 54, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born on January 8, 1972, to Don Wolfe and Rebecca Boesel (Cook), both of whom preceded him in death.
Known to many as “Wolfie,” Marc was a beloved and familiar presence in the Port Clinton community. He began his career at Fisherman’s Wharf 25 years ago as a first mate and went on to spend most of his years there as store manager. His welcoming smile and unmistakable personality greeted everyone who walked through the doors—it won’t be the same without him there.
Marc had a deep love for Lake Erie and took great pride in sharing his knowledge of fishing with others, always encouraging those he taught to “pay it forward.” Many remember him not only as a skilled fisherman, but as a loyal friend and mentor who offered honest advice and spoke his mind with a loud, direct voice that came from a place of sincerity and care.
He had a unique gift for bringing people together through humor. Alongside his friends Tyler and Ginger, Marc entertained thousands with their educational and hilarious Facebook posts, sharing important messages -especially about lake ice safety - in ways people would remember. He was full of life, honest to a fault, and known as a kind soul who could always make others laugh.
Marc’s love for animals was undeniable. He spent time feeding and caring for abandoned cats and even made friends with seagulls, ducks, and geese along the lake he cherished so much. His compassion extended into his community, where he supported civic projects and promoted many worthwhile causes.
Those who knew Marc describe him as a stand-up guy, a true legend on and off the lake, and someone whose presence made a lasting impact. It was truly an honor to know him.
He is survived by extended family members and many loving friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations to assist with cremation and celebration of life expenses.
If you knew Wolfie, you’ve got a story – hold onto it and share it.
