  • Thank you again.

I wish I could sit down with each and every one of you to thank you. My family and I plan on writing something more formal in the future to everyone, but for right now I just want express how much you have eased the burden for my sisters and I. Tomorrow will be hard, but it would have been even harder without your help. The service, her clothes, her hair, and the cremation are fully paid for. You made it possible. I will never forget your kindness and the love you have shown us.

About this fundraiser

On Oct 14th, our mother visited the hospital due to having severe stomach pain. She was sent home with pain medication with no definitive answer as to the cause. She continued to have pain in her stomach for 24 days. The pain would get so severe, she would have to go back to the hospital on Nov 7th. After the hospital performed tests, they found what looked to be a mass in her liver. Unfortunately, it would later be confirmed to be an aggressive form of liver cancer. After a couple of weeks, she would regain enough energy to be released from the hospital so she could start treatment. Tragically, her fight in the ring against cancer would not last long. After a brief but courageous battle, she passed away on December 10, 2023, surrounded by family at Rainey Hospice House.

Regrettably, our mother did not have life insurance. This fund is set up to help our family with funeral costs including: burial, ceremony, casket, and all other funeral expenses. Anything raised above the goal will go to the cost of a headstone. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations to support this fund.

Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference, and we are immensely grateful for any help you can provide. Please consider sharing this fundraiser on your social media platforms with friends, family, and coworkers. Alternatively, you can share the provided link via text.

Our mother was always the life of the party. She was known for her dancing and laughter. She would give her last to feed a stranger or a stray cat. We love her and the joy she has brought to our lives.

Thank you for keeping her vibrant giving spirit alive in our hearts.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Jessica, Alisha, Teressa, and the Gentry Family
