Recently I had the honor to meet a beautiful woman  and her young daughter who had just made the courageous decision to leave an unsafe situation in order to find peace and safety. Walking away was the right choice — but starting over has been incredibly hard.
Right now, they are in urgent need of temporary lodging.
Mom has done everything she can to secure stable housing. She is on multiple waiting lists and is currently estimated to be about 4–6 weeks away from reaching the top of one. Unfortunately, domestic violence shelters are full, and traditional shelter environments have been extremely difficult for her daughter due to ongoing mental health challenges. The instability and noise often trigger emotional outbursts, making those settings overwhelming rather than supportive.
When they left, mom had to leave her vehicle behind, which has made maintaining or obtaining employment even more challenging. Despite these barriers, she continues to fight every day to create stability for her daughter.
At the moment, they are staying in a small motel room that has been paid for through Saturday 2/20. After that, there is no confirmed place for them to go.
They do not need clothing or household items. They are connected with a local pantry for food.
Their only urgent need right now is safe lodging while they wait for housing to become available.
This fundraiser will go directly toward:
Extending their motel stay for the next 4–6 weeks
Providing stability while they wait for housing placement
Giving this little girl a safe place to sleep each night
Asking for help is incredibly humbling. No mother wants to be in this position. But sometimes strength means allowing a community to step in during the hardest chapter.
