Martha Patterson Obituary
Eileen Patterson, 77, of Tarentum, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
She was born in New Kensington on February 5, 1947, to the late William and Audrey English Kerr, and was a devoted member of the Salvation Army Citadel of New Kensington.
A professional photographer, Mrs. Patterson, submitted many photos to the Valley News Dispatch for publication and has won many accolades and awards for her work. She also has done many professional photo sessions for weddings, social events and holidays. She was a featured artist with the New Kensington Arts center where she shared many of her artistic creations
Mrs. Patterson was one of the first woman in Pennsylvania to work as a toll collector on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and one of the first woman coal miners in Pennsylvania, working in the Renton Coal Mines.
Eileen owned Patterson Personal Care Home in New Alexandria and New Kensington.
Surviving are her loving children, Renee Gilmore, Linda Koshinsky, with whom she resided, Cindy Koshinsky, and Bill Patterson, as well as an adopted daughter, Lindsay Rellin; 12 grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Andring.
Viewing will be on Monday, September 16, from 5-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Tuesday, September 17, at 11AM, officiated by Commanding Officer, Major Scott Flanders. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights
