I am starting a Give a hand account to help my son Matthew Primm, who is a single Dad, make ends meet after having vein reconstruction surgery on January 9, 2025 and another emergency revision which was just partially successful on February 28, 2025. To recap, he had a 12 centimeter blood clot behind his right knee and several smaller clots below his knee on Dec 20 . He had an existing blockage in his upper right thigh that extended above his pelvis from 2015.
The pre existing clot he was told caused the new one. So therefore 2 stents were placed to open up the blood flow in that leg. He had missed work several days since Dec 20 which was the diagnosis day and had just returned to work on January 27, 2025. This has been a slow painful process but he was starting to be able to walk some better and tolerate the pain some better. His post op visit was good on Feb 5 and his doctor was pleased with his progress and toof him to continue on the blood thinners, wear compression socks and they would check the stents with ultrasound in August…
After about another week Matthew began experiencing that familiar pain in the groin and lower abdomen accompanied by more swelling which was reported to his doctor. A venous Doppler was ordered to check the stents on February 27….. The morning of February 28 he got the call from his doctor to go back to Arkansas Heart Hospital as quickly as possible that day to be admitted for another emergency surgery as he was totally occluded AGAIN where the stents were placed. That surgery was then performed but was only partially successful and he has to return on March 21 to have what we hope is the last surgery with a special chemical called clot buster. This will be another hospital stay for a few days with another week off before returning to work.
Even tho Matthew does have health insurance, he does NOT have sick leave , so when he does not work due to illness he does not get paid.. The medical bills have started coming in from the first surgery in January which his insurance has paid some for which he is grateful but he still has hefty balances . These funds raised will help him fill in the gap until he is back at work and drawing a regular paycheck. Thank you so much in advance for any donation.
