With a heavy heart, our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved aunt, Kamalani Piyamudalige (Batta), who left us on April 26, after suffering for over 6 weeks from a tragic stroke and infection.
Despite losing her husband in 2022, and not having any children of her own, she continued to love and cherish all of us kids like her own. She wanted the best for us and wanted us to reach stars. She always told me that we made her so proud and called us her children. She cooked amazing food any time we visited her and she always had a gift ready for us on every special occasion of our lives. She loved the almond chocolate bars I sent to her and she would devour them. She repeatedly let me know how much she enjoyed the small gifts I sent her and she always appreciated our thoughtfulness towards her. Those memories of her will remain with me forever. We were far apart from each other, yet very close to heart through every conversation we've had while I've been living away from home.
Living away from home, it has been difficult for me to get proper closure of her passing. My family and I have been supporting her financially and taking care of most of the costs during her time in the hospital. For the very first and last time, I have a chance to help her by raising some funds to cover a part of her funeral services, hospital bills, a proper burial and giving alms.
Any donation, no matter how small, will directly go towards her funeral, medical expenses, memorial service, burial and giving alms, so we can help lay her to rest with the dignity she deserves.
This is only set up in an effort to help my family from miles away, so please don't feel obligated in anyway!
We also kindly ask everyone to say a prayer in her name so she can find her peace and enter into the hands of Jesus in heaven.
We appreciate your prayers, love, and support during this incredibly painful time.
With gratitude,
Ryan, Ayusha and Family
