About this fundraiser

I felt it on my heart to try to help relieve my young aunt of her overwhelming medical bills, all while she’s still trying to fight this aggressive cancer. She needs to focus on her health which is stressful enough.

My dad’s sister Debbie, one of my closest aunts, is truly a ray of sunshine to everyone Blessed to have her in their lives. She’s beautiful, funny, selfless and to top it off, she’s a hard worker. It’s so hard to see her struggling, but she does it with grace and a big ol’ smile on her face! It truly gives me an even greater appreciation for having her as my aunt.

I want to start by saying, I had to BEG her to let me do this. It was on my heart to try to help her but she’s so selfless that she didn’t want to take anything from anyone else’s pockets. With that being said, if you don’t have the funds to donate, don’t. We truly understand.

Back in March of this year aunt Debbie accidentally found a tumor while getting checked for something else. She was diagnosed with stage 4 advanced metastatic melanoma. The melanoma, which starts at the skin, spread to the lower lobe of her right lung and had to be removed along with the tumor. She is currently undergoing treatment at Duke cancer center to help slow the progression. In best case, build enough immunity to kill the cancer cells. Radiation and chemo are not options for this form of cancer, so her treatment right now is currently immunotherapy. With that, it is affecting the rest of her body and the lord put on her heart to pursue other treatment options that can be more effective but less damaging to the other parts of her body.
On top of the thousands of dollars in deductibles, Co insurance, co-pays and travel, other treatment plans will cost even more.  The mounting medical bills have created a financial strain making it difficult to focus solely on getting better.

I’d like to leave off by requesting a few things:

If you can’t afford to donate, please don’t. We don’t expect it.

Sharing is caring. The more people this reaches, the better the chances.

Please pray for God’s healing hands to see her through this.

And last but not least, please schedule your yearly skin check with your dermatologist. This is much easier to treat when it’s at surface level. Until aunt Debbie, I had no idea it could even spread to your insides. If nothing else, she wants awareness spread to hopefully help someone else.
