About this fundraiser

I'd like to begin by saying that I thank anyone & everyone who is taking time from their lives to read my story. I am a single mother of a beautiful two 20 month old baby girl. I currently live with my Mother and my Grandmother. My mother and my grandmother are both disabled. My mother has had multiple back and bowel surgeries which has prevented her from being able to work. My Grandmother has COPD/Emphysema and was diagnosed at age 60. Through the years, her condition slowly progressed. I had my daughter in March 2022. My Grandmother was able to hold her and play with her, until about 6 months ago. We were sitting in the living room at home when all of the sudden, my grandmother suddenly became incoherent and wasn't breathing normal. I called 911 immediately, thinking it may have been a stroke. It wasn't a stroke, but instead her body had built up a toxic amount of carbon monoxide causing respiratory distress and hypoxemia. Since then, her breathing became worse and she no longer was able to take care of herself, or do anything that caused her to be short of breath, including not being able to play with my daughter anymore. At the beginning of October, she had been hospitalized with pneumonia. As the days went by, she progressively got worse. She went from not being able to do anything, to being in bed 24/7. On November 2, she once again was hospitalized with pneumonia, but this time they recommended my mother and I talk to hospice, as they told us they believe she has less than 6 months to live. After speaking with hospice, we decided to have them start coming in to make sure she's as comfortable as possible. She came home November 5 and has only gotten worse. Her pain is under control, but she's still suffering by not being able to breath normally as well as we are by seeing her suffer. Not only are we under severe stress from watching her suffer knowing that any day now could be her last, but we are scared to death that we won't be able to have her cremated. We live on my mother's and grandmother's income, which my mother receives $1228 per month from disability and my grandmother receives $914 from social security. My mother's check covers only the rent which is $1,200 and my grandmother's check picks up the cable, electric and incidentals. I am not working currently, because I am also suffering from health issues. I'm asking for any type of help to be able to cremate my grandmother, because she is now in the pre-active dying phase which they say is three weeks or less. We are in desperate need of help and I pray we are able to get it by the time she passes away, or we will have no choice but to donate her body to science, which would be a nightmare 😥 I can't imagine not being able to have her here with us because we can't afford it. Again, thank you for reading my story. Even if you're not able to donate, just saying a prayer for all of us would be greatly appreciated. God Bless 🙏❤️
