I am a senior, 80 years old residing in Boynton Beach, FL.  My total monthly income is social security of $2,176.

My rent has increased 38% two years ago from $1,365 monthly to $1,900.  In addition, I am subject to a late payment fee of $150 if I pay my rent after the fifth of the month.  I currently receive social security the first Friday of each month, causing the late payment fee most months of the year.

I am currently receiving monthly $106 EBT.  As you well know, it is virtually impossible to pay for groceries monthly on this total!.  I am also receiving assistance for my utility bill for two more months from Palm Beach Community Services.

I have tried to obtain employment, but once prospective employers interview me, I am basically eliminated from their search.  Who says there is no discrimination in the workplace?????   In addition, my car died a month ago and was donated to a Veterans Organization, leaving me without transportation.  I am fortunate enough to have a charity donate weekly rides for me to purchase groceries.

I am basically requesting the amount shown to assist in paying my rent and other expenses for the coming year.
