The goal of this fundraiser is to help children in need by offering safe and stable housing for orphaned, homeless, or vulnerable children seeking shelter.

The Hebrona Rescue Mission, headed by Pastor Sipka Rajib, is situated in the Golamunda village, Dharmagarh town, Kalahandi District, Odisha state, which is one of the poorest regions in India.

Pastor Rajib was inspired to build a house for the orphans when he witnessed the children living in deplorable conditions and not cared for properly in his hometown village.

In 1990, Pastor Rajib’s family was struggling with a lack of food and no income sources. As a young child, Pastor Rajib was admitted to a Missionary school for orphans and impoverished children. From that experience, Pastor Rajib knows firsthand how beneficial a children’s home can be. During that time, Pastor Rajib was well cared for, received an education, and learned about the love of God.

Currently, the orphans and homeless children are housed at the Hebrona Rescue Mission church building. The Orphanage Housing Project was started in April 2024 to construct a building that can house approximately 30 children. The building will house the orphans and administrative staff, and include separate rooms for girls and boys. The boys’ room will also be used as a multi-purpose room for study, prayer, and dining.

To date, work has included the foundation and the exterior walls (exterior walls have been funded and will be completed by early April). The initial funding for the building came from the sale of a piece of land that was donated by Pastor Rajib’s parents. Subsequent funds came from local churches, generous donors from around the world, and friends.

The next phase of the housing project is to build a roof which is projected to cost $12,000.

This project is important to the community and we need your support as the Indian government has not provided any nearby orphanage housing nor has Pastor Rajib been able to obtain any grant funding from the government.
