She's an only daughter and her twin is unable to help in anyway, due to being incarcerated. She is trying to cover the cost all on her own. Her father passed away unexpectedly and because of it being unexpected nothing was prepared in advance for anything. She wants to cremate him because that's what he said he wanted done.
