Hi, my name is Shelly, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and a humble request. I never imagined I’d be in a place where I’d have to ask for help like this, but sometimes life leaves you no other choice.
I’m a mom of beautiful, resilient kids who are my entire world. Every day, they give me a reason to keep pushing forward, no matter how hard the road gets. And it’s been a long, difficult road.
I live with rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease that doesn’t just attack my joints but affects my entire body — including my dental health. The disease, along with the medications I rely on, has weakened my teeth beyond repair. It’s left me in constant pain, embarrassed to smile, and struggling to eat the foods I need to stay healthy.
But, unfortunately there’s more to my story.
I’m also a survivor of domestic violence and battery. For years, I endured pain no one should ever have to feel — physically, emotionally, and mentally. That chapter of my life left lasting scars, some visible and some unseen. I fought to break free, for myself and for my children, because they deserve a mom who can show up for them with strength and love.
Now, I’m facing another health battle: my dental issues have begun to affect my heart health. Infections and gum disease are putting extra strain on my already fragile body. My doctors have warned that without urgent treatment, including dental implants, I’m at serious risk for complications that could shorten my life.
I don’t want to leave my children without their mom!
I dream of a day when I can laugh and smile freely with them, eat a meal without pain, and look in the mirror without feeling ashamed. Most of all, I want to be here for them — healthy, strong, and whole.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
The cost of dental implants is overwhelming, and insurance won’t cover what I need. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to healing — not just my smile, but my health and spirit.
If you can, please consider donating or sharing my story. Your kindness would mean the world to me and my kids. You would also be giving me the strength to volunteer and give a helping hand to others in need!
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping give me a reason to smile again.
With love and gratitude,
Shelly
