About this fundraiser

At only 25 years old, my daughter should be celebrating milestones, working, dreaming about building her future, and living her life like other young adults her age. Instead, for years she has spent far too much of her young life battling serious, complex medical conditions which leave her fighting everyday to try and stay healthy and alive.

Brooke lives with congenital liver disease and a rare metabolic disorder known as ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency, which prevents her body from properly removing toxins. Because of this, she experiences dangerously high ammonia levels, metabolic acidosis, and repeated hospitalizations that require constant monitoring, specialized medical care, and lifelong treatment.

She also lives with chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic insufficiency, causing severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and recurrent acute pancreatitis. Her pancreas is chronically inflamed, her pancreatic duct is dilated, and she experiences frequent flares that send her back to the hospital making everyday life unpredictable, painful, and exhausting.

In addition, she has a hypercoagulable condition, meaning her blood clots abnormally. She has already endured deep vein thrombosis and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, a life-threatening blood clot in the brain. To prevent further clots, she must remain on long-term blood thinners, which led to severe uterine bleeding, anemia, and acute blood loss, creating yet another medical emergency layered onto everything else.

Unfortunately, it does not stop there. She also struggles with cardiac issues, including sinus tachycardia and structural abnormalities of the mitral valve, along with chest pain and shortness of breath. On top of this, she faces electrolyte imbalances, blood sugar instability, chronic fatigue, and daily pain challenges that no young person should have to endure.

We have spent some of her birthdays in hospital rooms, surrounded by IVs and monitors instead of family gatherings and celebrations. While I do all that I can to make these birthdays as special as she is, It is mostly bittersweet and deep down a heartbreaking reminder of how much her illnesses have taken from her at such a young age. I would give anything to take this pain away from her and carry it all myself so she could live without suffering… If only that were possible.

As her mother, I have always done everything I possibly can to support her medically, financially, mentally, and emotionally. Unfortunately, I recently lost my job, and the financial burden is becoming overwhelming. Between hospital stays, medications, specialists, and basic medical expenses, I am struggling to keep up myself while remaining strong for her.

My daughter is my life, and I humbly come to you today and ask for any donations to help cover her ongoing medical care and essential needs. Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward keeping her safe, supported, and receiving the care she desperately needs. If you are unable to donate, sharing her story means more than you know.

Today, I am asking for prayers of strength, healing, and peace as my daughter continues this journey. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and pray that her body finds relief, her spirit remains strong, and that God places the right people in our path to help carry us through this difficult time. Your prayers mean just as much to us as your support. Despite everything she has faced, my daughter continues to show incredible courage and resilience. We hold onto hope… Hope for better days, hope for a cure, hope for healing, and hope for a future where she can live life fully without constant pain.

Please know that your kindness, generosity, and support remind us that we are not alone, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
