A dear friend of mine has recently received a sudden and life-changing cancer diagnosis. She is an incredible single mother to her beautiful daughter, a devoted educator who has touched the lives of thousands of children over her 20 years with Hoke County Schools, and someone who brings joy to others through her love of baking and gardening.

She is one of the most selfless, kind, and generous people I know. While this diagnosis is a difficult chapter, it will not define her—it will be a time when her community surrounds her with love and support.

As she begins treatment, she will be out of work for a considerable amount of time.
