Music is my biggest escape and joy. I play almost every day on my digital piano, but I've always felt that something was missing—the soul and resonance of a real acoustic instrument.
That instrument is actually in my living room, sitting silent. It's my late grandmother's piano, a beautiful vintage Quandt that I inherited. Right now, it’s just a piece of furniture, and it honestly hurts to see such a special thing unused.
I finally called a piano technician to see if it could be saved. He told me the good news: the piano is worth restoring and has great potential. The bad news is that it needs serious work—internal repairs, regulation, and tuning—to make it playable again. The cost for this restoration is £700.
I've saved up a little myself, but it's not nearly enough. Without a steady income at the moment, I can't bridge the gap alone. That’s why I’m here.
This isn't just about fixing an old piano. It's about:
Bringing a family heirloom back to life.
Turning my quiet living room into a space filled with live music.
Finally playing the real piano I've dreamed of, which is already part of my home.
Every single pound will go directly to the piano technician for the restoration. I will share photo and video updates throughout the process, so you can see the transformation and hear the first notes when it’s finished.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any help you can offer to make this happen means the world to me.
With hope and gratitude,
Josef
