About this fundraiser

My name is Joel, and I grew up on a farm in Washington state, where I developed a love for the land and the sea, often spending time on my grandpa's boat. With over a decade of experience in both ministry and agriculture, I have dedicated my life to serving others. I hold a certificate in Sustainable Global Food Systems from the University of Edinburgh and have studied human physiology and related topics at Williston State College.

Since 2012, I have been working closely with two church groups in Yemen, a country devastated by a brutal civil war that began in 2014. Initially, these groups sought my guidance on scripture and Bible studies, as they yearned to draw closer to God. However, as the conflict has dragged on, leading to one of the worst man-made famines in history, I have done everything in my power to support them financially and spiritually. Over the past year, violence against Christians has intensified in what was already the third most difficult nation to be a Christian according to Worldwatch.

Today, I am intent upon embarking on a new mission: to sail to Egypt and then to Yemen, where I plan to purchase a small farm plot near the coast. I am seeking to raise $24,000 to make this vision a reality. These funds will go toward buying the land, providing essential food, over-the-counter medicine, first aid supplies, tools, seeds, and gardening materials.

My goal is to create a safe haven where I can teach dryland agriculture, Christian theology, general health, and first aid. This farm will serve as a refuge for Christians, Jews, and others who are being persecuted by the Houthi rebels.

This mission is deeply personal to me, and I am committed to making a difference in the lives of those who have suffered so much. Any support you can offer—whether through donations, prayers, or spreading the word—will bring us one step closer to helping those in desperate need.

Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting this important cause. Together, we can bring hope and healing to a people ravaged by conflict.
